The Group was first founded with the formation of M.C. Drakos and Co Ltd back in 1960 by the late Michalakis Drakos. The company was deeply involved in the exports of fresh and dried fruits and the majority of local produce.

As a man with the reputation of somebody who could foresee the developments of years to come, he directed the company into land dealing and developing as well as construction of brand new modern buildings and modern houses, suitable for the new generation's needs.

Later on, while Limassol was still only a merchant town with little activity in the Tourism field, he was able to visualize the Cyprus of today and set up two new companies tailor-made to become hotel owners.

M. Drakos Estates Ltd, began with the construction of the first purposely built Hotel Apartment blocks in an area that has proven today to be the heart of Tourism in Limassol. The second Company, Drakos Development Co.Ltd acquired substantial properties, which were ready for Hotel developments.

His death in 1973 left the running of the Companies to his successors who formed Drakos Travel and later C&D Drakos Navigation CO.Ltd and Cycle Packing and Exports Ltd. The latter engaging in the packing and exports of citrus fruits and grapes.

In 1985, a newly built block comprised of Tourist Shops and Studio flats was erected which belongs today to Ch. Drakos Properties & Investments Ltd.

The Group's philosophy is to maintain a steady increase of both assets and volume of business through the enthusiasm and hard work of both management and staff.
